Testing and assessment are important elements in the student's learning process, revealing his or her point in that process and signposting the way forward. Testing can be both summative, whereby pass or fail is normally indicated by a grade, and formative, which is mainly intended to modify and improve the learning process.
ICT is a very good tool to support a specific test method, enabling tests to be undertaken effectively and efficiently. It reduces and simplifies reviews for lecturers and allows the students to check right away whether they have adequately mastered the material.
